For someone that is unfamiliar with Gamification, the word is likely to trigger ideas of videogames, and teenagers playing on a console for hours on end.
With the term making people think this way, it is no surprise that some organizations are reluctant to incorporate Gamification into their workplace environment.
But in reality, gamification has very little to do with video games and gaming.
Instead, gamification takes the best from games- the psychological effect that a game can have by engaging and motivating a user- and uses it in another context in order to change or maintain a certain behaviour.
Gamification is far from being just a game. Gamification just takes the best of games and comes up with a fun solution to help foster, retain and attract talent.
